The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” reaches 4 billion Spotify streams

Last week, The Weeknd hinted at his sixth studio album coming in 2024. That came after he posted a photo which contained his previous two albums, as well as a question mark. However, the release date and title has yet to be revealed, as of now. His last album arrived in January 2022, which was “Dawn FM,” and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd continues to break records, in regards to his streaming. His 2019 “Blinding Lights” single has now become the first song on Spotify to reach 4 billion streams, per Talk Of The Charts. In addition to this mark, Blinding Lights is also the most streamed song in Spotify history, and is also certified diamond by the RIAA, in the US.

Blinding Lights was initially released in the fall of 2019, and went on to debut at number one in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Furthermore, it also appeared on Weeknd’s “After Hours” album, in March 2020. Moreover, that also went on to see a number one debut, on the Billboard 200 chart. After Hours marked The Weeknd’s fourth consecutive number one album, as well.
