Back in 2020, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland helped bring joy to a lot of music fans, during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, by creating Verzuz. While people were at home, they got to enjoy their favorite artists and producers compete in hit-for-hit battles. Those included Ludacris vs Nelly, Lil Jon vs T-Pain, Babyface vs Teddy Riley, Gucci Mane vs Jeezy, and more. Fans soon began to experiences Verzuz battles in-person, in 2021.

In January 2021, Timbaland and Swizz sold Verzuz, to Triller. Triller soon began expanding streaming methods for Verzuz, online. Now, the producers are filing a lawsuit against Triller.

According to TMZ, Triller is being sued by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, for $28 million. They are also seeking interest. This comes after Triller supposedly stopped making payments for their initial purchase of Verzuz. Triller is said to have stopped paying the funds, after their first two payments. Triller also settled, but soon started to stop paying again, after one payment. As of now, Triller has yet to publicly speak on this massive lawsuit.

Verzuz’s previous event was Luny Tunes vs DJ Nelson, on July 17. This was a Verzuz that paid tribute to Latin producers.
