Late last month, Tory Lanez ended up being convicted in his 2020 case, involving allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He was convicted of three felonies, which include assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Tory is currently facing 22 years in prison.

As a result, Tory will be sentenced on January 27. Following his initial conviction, he was immediately taken to jail. However, the Toronto rapper is now making some changes to his legal team.

According to investigative reporter Meghann Cuniff, Tory has fired his attorney, and has enlisted David Kenner. Kenner is recognized by many as being the former attorney of Suge Knight.

“Kenner is a longtime criminal defense attorney whose clients include former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight. Anyone with actual experience in criminal law (not all lawyers) will tell you he’s joining the case a bit late: Before trial would have been better.”

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion continues to take a hiatus, from social media. Prior to the trial, she was quiet at the time then, as well. In August, she released her surprise sophomore album, “Traumazine.” That went on to debut at number four in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart.
