Tory Lanez is denied request for bond, as he continues appeal of 10-year prison sentence

Tory Lanez is denied request for bond as he appeals sentencing
On Thursday, Tory Lanez had a heating in court in Los Angeles, after recently requesting bail. This comes as the Toronto rapper continues to appeal the 10-year prison sentence of him being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Those charges were negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.
However, Tory has just been denied this request for bond, according to TMZ. Furthermore, a judge cited the reasons of Tory being convicted of a violent felony, has a history of violating court orders, and isn’t a U.S. citizen. Moreover, Tory’s legal team attempted to state that he has a legal work visa, but to no avail. If he was granted bond, he would’ve lived in California with his 6-year-old son and his baby mama, who he’s apparently now married to.
In the days after his initial sentencing, Tory released a statement where he said he wouldn’t apologize for convictions he’s not guilty of. He also received almost a year credit of time served. It was recently revealed that Tory even denied a plea deal which would’ve given him just four years in prison, but ultimately decided to take it to trial.
