Tory Lanez gets almost a year credited to 10-year sentence

On Tuesday, social media was on fire, after Tory Lanez’s sentencing finally reached its conclusion, after two days. As a result, the Toronto rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison, for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, in July 2020. Tory was initially convicted of all three felony counts, in December. Tory was initially supposed to be sentenced in late July, but the date went on to be postponed to August 7.

However, Tory will be getting nearly a year in prison already credited to his sentence, according to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff. The judge is crediting him for 231 days he’s already spent in jail, 15% credit of 34 days. Furthermore 40 days of  Tory’s house arrest is being credited. As a result, the credited total for his sentence is at 305 days.

Meanwhile, Tory isn’t giving up yet. He is requesting bail, as that hearing will be held on August 15. Cuniff also revealed that this is also likely to be denied by the judge.

Megan Thee Stallion has also yet to publicly speak on the sentencing. It’s likely that she is continuing to heal from the trauma of the initial incident, as her legal team initially stated this week, that she’s been feeling pain every single day emotionally, since the day she was shot.
