Trina gives female empowerment with BET speech
Trina is one of the most underrated female artists of all time. Often, it is said that there were no dominant female rappers between Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj. However, Trina was there and putting out hit records. During the summer of 2005, Trina dropped her classic, “Here We Go,” featuring Kelly Rowland. After that, Trina delivered “Single Again” in 2008.
Trina actually enjoyed a successful run that outlasted many artists, whether they be male or female. From 2000 until 2008, Trina was one of the biggest hip hop artists. Like every artist, Trina had to deal with newer and younger names rising to fame. When that happened, Trina faded into the background. As a result, she shifted into the veteran/legendary lane. With that being said, BET decided to honor Trina with the “I Am Hip Hop” award at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Trina was honored in a big way at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. During her speech, Trina gave credit to the people who helped her get into the game. In addition, she thanked all of the fans who helped her remain one of the biggest names in music for eight years. While Trina does not always get the recognition she deserves, there is a lot of her style seen in City Girls, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and many others. In the speech, Trina acknowledged all of this, and gave props to the ladies doing their thing. Social media, meanwhile, took the moment to acknowledge how good Trina looks, but questioned why she didn’t perform.
