Tonight’s episode of “Atlanta” was called Value and it saw Van (Zazie Beetz) growing tired of Earn’s (Donald Glover) crap again. While she is working for her and their child, Earn is running around with Paperboy (Brian Tyree Henry). Ms. Tieg (Milli M.) highlighted this fact.
Van is trying to make her way as a teacher and “Atlanta” has been heavily playing race throughout the series. Last week’s episode saw how racially-charged Justin Bieber (Austin Crute) was. Tonight’s episode takes race to a whole new level.
In Van’s class, there is a student named Tobias, who comes to school in whiteface. All over the internet, there are videos and pics of white kids going to college and wearing blackface. The episode ends with this shot of the student, Tobias, rocking whiteface and it sets Twitter off.
