Chicago has silently been a hotbed for hip hop over the past two decades, but the past three years have seen the intensity pick up. One of the newer figures on the Chicago scene is Vic Mensa. He has done well on the independent landscape and now he has bigger reinforcement.
Vic Mensa has plenty of music out and many notable projects over the past couple of years. Definitely, he is on the radar of many big figures in the rap game. As everyone knows, Kanye West keeps an ear to the streets and so does Jay Z.
For a little over a month, Vic Mensa has been involved in rumors of him being signed to G.O.O.D. Music. While that is up for debate, he does apparently have a deal in the works with a major company. At the very least, Vic Mensa has signed with Roc Nation.
