On Friday, legendary Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole was reported to have died, at the age of 37. Archie originally made a name for himself in 2002, when he was just 17, with his smash hit single, “We Ready,” featuring Bubba Sparxx. This record appeared on his “Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style” album. At the time of Archie’s reported death, there was no official cause of death.

According to TMZ though, more information is now surfacing. Archie was reportedly shot by his brother, Alexander Kraus, on March 25. This occurred at a gas station. Archie ended up succumbing to his injuries on April 3, while at a local hospital. Meanwhile, Alexander was arrested for murder, and is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.

We Ready was played frequently at many Atlanta sports games, as Archie partnered with Atlanta United as well. He also wrote their “United We Conquer” song. The Atlanta rapper was frequently at their matches, and even performed at their 2018 MLS Cup championship parade. The team had just won a championship in their second season as an MLS club. We Ready has since become a historic hype song, over the past 20 years, and will forever be that. RIP Archie.
