The man’s name is Fred Veenendaal and he is the vice principal at Sunnyside High School in Fresno, California. After hours, Veenendaal was nearby his home, which is in a gated community. There were three Black teenage girls he got into an argument with. As a result, he called the police on them. He accused them of not being from the community. In addition, he called them “Section 8 people” and “ghetto girls.”
Now, Veenendaal is on paid administrative leave from the school and they released a statement to FOX26:
“We are aware of the video circulating, and the district started an investigation into the matter early Monday. The labels used in the video do not align with the high standards we have for our Fresno Unified leaders and staff,” the district reportedly said in its media statement. “We want to assure our families that having respectful, inclusive, and loving adults serving in our school is of the utmost importance to Sunnyside and our district as a whole.”
