Will Smith and Martin Lawrence confirm that “Bad Boys 4” is coming [VIDEO]

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announce “Bad Boys 4”

There has been speculation for a while now, regarding if “Bad Boys 4” would end up being released. This was due to Will Smith’s controversial slap on Chris Rock at the Oscars, in 2022.

However, Bad Boys 4 is very much on its way. On Tuesday afternoon, Will Smith took to Instagram to post a video of him on his way to seeing fellow Bad Boys star, Martin Lawrence. There, the two shared a hug, and both revealed that Bad Boys 4 is on its way. This comes amid news that the film is currently in a pre-production stage.

Last year, Sony chairman Tom Rothman also denied that Bad Boys 4 would be scrapped, due to the Chris Rock slap incident.

“No. That was inaccurate,” Rothman explained. “That movie’s been in development and still is. There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving. That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don’t think it’s really my place to comment, except to say that I’ve known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person. That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment, in front of the world. I believe his apology and regret is genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption.”

The last Bad Boys film arrived back in January 2020, which was the “Bad Boys For Life” edition. At the time, it went on to earn over $59 million in its opening weekend in the US, at the box office.
