Tyler Perry is a billionaire and, even before that, he was super rich. As a result, money hasn’t been an issue for him for a long time. Also, Perry was in the running to purchase both BET and VH1. At that time, he had the support of the Black community. It seems as if Tyler has lost some of that support, after a recent interview. When speaking on dating, Perry advised Black women to date Black men who earn less than them, even if all they can pay is the light bill. A woman named Jasmine called Tyler out for this.

Tyler Perry became a billionaire, primarily due to his Madea character. For well over twenty years, Tyler has dressed and acted like a woman in stage plays, movies, and TV sitcoms. As a result, he built a brand that was able to land movie and TV deals. After starting out on TV syndication, he eventually moved into deals with TBS and the OWN network. Once he developed successful drama series, outside of comedy, he was able to land a deal with BET and Paramount.

Tyler Perry recently did an interview and offered his opinion on dating. The past decade has seen an increasing number of women saying they want to date wealthy men. As a wealthy man, Perry offered his opinion on that. He advised Black women to take a chance on those Black guys who don’t earn as much as they do.
