Woman put in chokehold and held hostage at grocery store

A woman in Austin County, Texas went grocery shopping and her day was ruined. This is the second time, within a week, that a person almost lost their lives in a store. Betty Smith is a 65-year-old grandmother, who went grocery shopping with her special needs grandson. She ran into the store to buy ice cream for her grandchild. The only customer in the store, Ms. Smith found $50 laying on the ground. When she told the cashier, the cashier told her the money may belong to her friend. After that, mayhem ensued.

These days, so much has changed, but many things have also remained the same. While respect has gone out the window, racism continues to run rampant. In many ways, racism is just as open as it was during the 1960s and 1970s. When Betty Smith refused to let go of the $50, the employees at the store attacked her. The attacks were both verbal and physical. When it came to the verbal, they wasted no time making racist insults towards her.
