Abruptly, YMCMB came to an end, in 2014, as Nicki Minaj dropped her third album. She had two collaborations with Drake and Lil Wayne, on that album. During this run, the whole Lil Wayne/Birdman fiasco began.
Soon, Nicki Minaj would enter an extended hiatus, as Lil Wayne gradually disappeared from the game. Drake, though, turned up even higher. This span of time saw him establish himself as a generational artist.
Nicki Minaj, for her part, remains a huge star, evidenced by how she broke the internet, just announcing her return. Her re-entry to the game is a Beam Me Up Scotty re-release, but with new tracks. The song, “Seeing Green,” is a YMCMB reunion, with Drake and Lil Wayne, and it has Twitter going crazy.
