Al Horford flexes on the Warriors after securing Game 1 win
Al Horford is an unsung hero, but the world is aware now. In 2007, Al Horford was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. When Horford arrived, the Hawks were an improving team. However, the Hawks remained one of the NBA’s worst teams. Al Horford helped lead the Atlanta Hawks to their first playoff appearance in nine years. Unprecedented, Al Horford kept the Hawks in the playoffs every year for the following nine seasons.
Al Horford led the Atlanta Hawks to a franchise record 60 wins in 2015. During the 2015 playoffs, Al Horford led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals. In 2016, Al Horford signed with the Boston Celtics, where he formed a duo with Isaiah Thomas. Together, they led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017. Horford went through a journeyman period, playing for the Sixers and Thunder, before returning to Boston.
Al Horford held the record for most playoff games played without reaching the Finals. In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, against the Miami Heat, Al Horford changed that. Al Horford made his NBA Finals debut, against the Golden State Warriors, last night. Despite being down the entire game, the Celtics came back and got the blowout win. Horford had an and-1 that pretty much ended the game. As he drew the foul, Horford gave the Warriors’ crowd a flex.
