Bam Adebayo has become the franchise center for the Miami Heat. When Bam Adebayo began his career, he was Hassan Whiteside’s backup. In the post-LeBron era, Hassan Whiteside came up big for the Miami Heat. Despite how well Whiteside fit for the Heat, Bam Adebayo proved to be that much better. After Hassan Whiteside left, Bam Adebayo came into his own.

Bam Adebayo and the Heat formed a competitive core. In Bam Adebayo’s rookie season, Miami Heat legend, Dwyane Wade returned. While Wade did not return to being the franchise player, he did provide guidance for Adebayo. In his rookie year, the Heat made the playoffs, but quickly lost to the Philadelphia 76ers. The following year, the Heat were competitive, but narrowly missed the playoffs. In 2019, Bam Adebayo had Jimmy Butler join him as a teammate, and they played in the NBA Finals.

Bam Adebayo has only gotten better since the 2020 Finals run. There have been serious discussions about Bam Adebayo needing to become one of the NBA’s best centers. Already, Bam has strong chemistry with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro. In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Bam Adebayo came up big, drawing the and-1 from one of the Celtics’ main defensive guys, Grant Williams.
