Chris Paul takes open court charge against LeBron James, draws foul | Suns at Lakers [VIDEO]

Chris Paul takes open court charge against LeBron James

Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Phoenix Suns. This was a rematch of their first round playoff series, from last season. Because injuries slowed the Lakers down, this season was supposed to be their redemption. Instead, the Lakers are playing like a play-in team, rather than a playoff team. On the other hand, the Phoenix Suns are battling with the Golden State Warriors for the NBA’s best record.

Prior to last season, the Phoenix Suns hadn’t made the playoffs since 2010. During the 2020 offseason, Chris Paul signed with the Suns. In one season, he did what Steve Nash failed to do in eight, which was lead the Suns to the NBA Finals. With Devin Booker, Chris Paul formed a strong backcourt duo. The two led the Suns to their first Finals since 1993.

The Suns were two wins away from their first-ever NBA championship. However, Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks proved to be too much. Proving last season was no fluke, the Suns have gotten off to a strong start to the season. Last night, they visited the Lakers, who were supposed to have a statement game.

Instead, Chris Paul takes open court charge against LeBron James, drawing an offensive foul. This was indicative of how the Lakers’ game would go. They fell 108-90, to the Suns.
