Warriors win blowout over Suns
In the end, last night’s matchup of Suns at Warriors wasn’t very close. Still, all NBA eyes were glued on the game, as the Suns were winners of 18 straight games. The biggest win of them all was their 104-96 home win, over Golden State. Fans and pundits, alike, said this win was huge for the Suns. However, a completely other side said this win was more important for Phoenix, than the Warriors. Last night proved that other side right.
The Phoenix Suns had a franchise record 18 game win streak, after a 1-3 start. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been hot all season. Most NBA critics expected the Lakers, Clippers, and Jazz to be on top of the NBA’s West standings. But, with 1/4 of the season in the books, the West has been all about the Warriors and Suns. Last night, the two teams played in San Francisco, for ESPN, and it was all Golden State. With 23 points, Stephen Curry led all scorers, but Juan Toscano-Anderson had the big moment, dunking on JaVale McGee.
DeAndre Ayton led the way for the Suns, matching Curry’s 23 points. However, he was the only Suns player to score over 15 points. The Warriors, meanwhile, had a balanced team effort, with Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton II both scoring 19 points. Behind them was Toscano-Anderson’s 17 points. The final score was 118, for the Warriors, to the Phoenix Suns’ 96, as Warriors win blowout over Suns.
