Lately, the Brooklyn Nets have been struggling. Much of the struggles are due to Kyrie Irving missing half of the games. Earlier this month, Kyrie finally rejoined the Nets’ roster, but is only playing in road games. Kyrie Irving is the first player in a generation to be a part-time player for the team. While this worked, initially, the Nets are now struggling. As the losses mount, the Nets find themselves continuing to slide in the standings.

Entering this season, the Nets were expected to run away with the East. Instead, the East has been dominated by the Heat, Bulls, and Cavs, the latter of which seems for real. This has left the Nets and defending champion Bucks battling for the fourth seed. Meanwhile, there are the Sixers and Hornets playing well, who could easily take one of those spots. Out West, the Nuggets were expected to be bigger contenders. But, instead, the West has seen the Warriors and Grizzlies join the Suns and Jazz on top of the standings.

The Nuggets have slowly been getting their act together, adding DeMarcus Cousins. They have won seven out of their last ten games. With the Utah Jazz in freefall, the Nuggets could be a darkhorse for the fourth seed, behind the Mavericks. Last night, they did their job, getting a win over the Nets in Brooklyn. Though the game went well, DeMarcus Cousins got ejected for slamming the ball, after being called for traveling.
