Dillon Brooks ejected for Flagrant 2 foul against Gary Payton II
Dillon Brooks has become a solid role player for the Memphis Grizzlies. Most felt the Grizzlies would be a factor, this season. However, the Memphis Grizzlies being the NBA’s second best team is something no one saw coming. The Grizzlies are still a young team, but the Minnesota Timberwolves made them grow up. After a grueling six game series, the Grizzlies were awarded with the Golden State Warriors waiting on them in the second round.
Dillon Brooks is known for being a tough defensive player. Brooks is definitely the go-to hustle player for the Grizzlies. While Ja Morant puts on an offensive show, Dillon Brooks holds it down on the defensive end. Defense has to be strong, especially when the Grizzlies have to play a team like the Golden State Warriors. In Game 1, the Grizzlies were in control until they weren’t. Golden State had the usuals, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson come alive. But Jordan Poole also came alive, as he is the X factor.
Dillon Brooks wanted to set the tone early for the Memphis Grizzlies. In Game 1, Gary Payton II had a huge game. Payton was also trying to set an early tone, but this did not sit well with Dillon Brooks. When Gary Payton II went up for a dunk, Dillon Brooks met him up there, and tried to bring him down. For his efforts, Dillon Brooks was called for a Flagrant 2 and ejected. This was a reversal of the Draymond Green situation and Memphis got the win.
