Giannis Antetokounmpo is the reigning NBA Finals MVP. After Giannis’ Bucks got off to an 0-2 start, they defeated the Phoenix Suns in convincing fashion. In what became the championship game, Giannis scored 50 points. Despite Giannis’ heroic efforts, he has somehow been overlooked this season. In the 2021-22 season, there have been so many stories.
Giannis was first overlooked, due to the expectations of the Brooklyn Nets. With the first full season of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, they were expected to finish 67-15 at least. Secondly, the Los Angeles Lakers retooled, bringing in much of the 2020 roster. When both teams imploded, they dominated headlines. Briefly, the Chicago Bulls looked like champions. Then, the Suns came back hard. Aside from that, the Miami Heat returned to the top. Finally, there were the Celtics.
Giannis had no parts of the Nets, this year, but he did lead the Bucks over the Bulls in five. After Giannis dispatched the Bulls, he had to go to Boston to face the Celtics. Without Khris Middleton, Giannis has to face the team who swept the Nets. While the first half was close, the Bucks ran away with the game. For his part, Giannis had the alley oop that helped the Bucks gain momentum.
