Giveon says he once sang for SZA, when he used to work at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, before his fame [VIDEO]

Giveon says he sung to SZA when he worked at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company

Giveon has emerged as one of R&B’s biggest stars, over the past two years. In early 2021, he scored the first number one hit of his career, as he was featured on Justin Bieber’s chart-topping “Peaches” single, with Daniel Caesar.

Last week, Giveon also went on to release his highly anticipated debut studio album, “Give Or Take.” He delivered 15 new songs, which were led by the “For Tonight” and “Lie Again.” Last weekend, Giveon had some technical difficulties with his microphone during his BET Awards performance, as well, but kept going.

Giveon also appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday night, where he performed his “Lie Again” single. He also told the story of how he sang for SZA, when he worked at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, way before the fame. This was before his third interview, where he had to sing.

“So, my third interview for the restaurant—yes, third. I don’t know why Bubba Gump requires three interviews for some reason. I’m walking into the third interview and I just see SZA walking and I ambush her like, ‘Hi.’ Just was rambling out the words. I don’t even remember everything I said.”

“Yes, I sang for her, okay! I was gon’ leave that part out,” Giveon added. “I was a very big fan. Still am. I was singing for her and she was just like, ‘Who is this guy singing?!'”

Giveon revealed that he brought up this story to SZA, years later, at his concert. She didn’t recall that moment, though. Hopefully, the two do end up collaborating, soon.
