Intellect changes the perception of Chicago rap with Ephesians 6 11
The city of Chicago is home to one of the most diverse hip hop scenes in history. However, by 2012, the scene was nonexistent outside of Common and Kanye West, both of whom mostly work with East Coast artists. But the drill scene put Chicago back on the map. Even with the wide array of artists from the city, that is what Chicago is known for.
Intellect is an artist who is on the ground making change. A Chicago native, Intellect is following the footsteps of some veterans, but doing his own thing. While he isn’t the first rapper to call on the Most High on a record, he is the first to title his song after a scripture. The scripture Intellect chose is a powerful one, as he is embracing himself in full armor to fight against evil.
Melding together crafty lyrics with spiritual undertones, Intellect has taken a unique position in the game. He has returned with his single, “Ephesians 6:11,” which is the single off his project, March Mayhem. Intellect has returned with the music video for the single, which happened to drop earlier this afternoon.
