Isaiah Thomas and Terry Rozier close out Jazz with amazing layups
For the past couple of seasons, the Charlotte Hornets have been a fun team to watch. When LaMelo Ball joined the team, the Hornets became a highlight reel. Together with Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges, Ball has formed an exciting core. Despite this, the Hornets struggled to win important games. Last season, the Hornets went 33-39, during the shortened season. The Hornets made their first postseason in years, losing the play-in game to the Indiana Pacers.
Entering this season, the Hornets got revenge on the Pacers. Early in the season, the Hornets raced out to the best record in the East. Even when the Hornets cooled off, they entered 2022 with a 28-22 record. At 28-22, the Hornets had their first winning season entering a New Year in over five years. From that moment on, the Hornets struggled. Needing a spark, the Hornets picked up Isaiah Thomas, the former franchise player, and he’s given them new life.
Last night, the Hornets played a close game with the Utah Jazz. Normally, this is the kind of game the Hornets would lose. With Isaiah Thomas’ veteran leadership, he got an incredible layup over Rudy Gobert to keep the momentum. Moments later, Terry Rozier came down the lane with a layup that ended up sealing the game for the Hornets. In the end, the Charlotte Hornets took a 107-101 win over the Jazz, keeping them in the playoff race.
