J. Cole Debuts in First Game For Rwanda Patriots of The Basketball Africa League [VIDEO]

Last week, it was revealed that J. Cole could finally be reaching his hoop dreams again as he signed with the Rwanda Patriots of the Basketball Africa League. Today, he and his squad took on Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers. Cole’s deal with Rwanda is a 3-6 game contract.

In Cole’s first game today, he put in 17 minutes of action. The legendary rapper only totaled three points, three rebounds, and two assists. Of course though, this is Cole’s first ever professional basketball game so he might just be needing to get his feet wet and adjust to this level.

Back in 2012, Cole participated in the NBA’s celebrity game during All-Star weekend and was also a walk-on at St. John’s University. Last summer, Master P also said that Cole was seriously training for an NBA tryout, as this came after the two created a basketball commercial for PUMA.

Cole’s debut in the Basketball Africa League also comes after releasing his sixth studio album, “The Off-Season,” two days ago. This project has been receiving tons of love on social media as it is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart this week. This would be Cole’s sixth consecutive number one album as every album in his career has debuted in the top spot.
