Joel Embiid tells Drake that Sixers are going for sweep of Raptors
Joel Embiid made sure the Philadelphia 76ers went up 3-0 over the Toronto Raptors. The Sixers took advantage of their opportunity to take a 3-0 first round series lead. Now the Toronto Raptors are facing a sweep. Game 3 was in Drake’s hometown, Toronto. In Game 3, the Raptors had the lead for almost the entire game. Joel Embiid made the game close and then hit a game-winning three point shot. As a result, the Raptors are facing a sweep.
This was the 76ers’ first lead of the game, as they took that commanding 3-0 lead, in the end. Embiid posted 33 points and 13 rebounds. After the game, Embiid spoke with Drake, who has been a brand ambassador for his home town team, since 2014. Drake is frequently seen sitting court side at these games, at the Scotiabank Arena.
During this conversation, Embiid is seen telling Drake that he’s coming for the sweep, in this series. The Sixers have the opportunity to make this happen, on Saturday afternoon. Drake was laughing after Embiid was boasting this confidence, but his Raptors could very well get swept, this weekend. This would be a huge series win over the Raptors, as the Sixers fell to this team back in 2019, when Kawhi Leonard sent them home, after a game-winning buzzer-beater.
