Sixteen years ago, the two did Akeelah and the Bee together. Over the years, Keke has become known for her Angela Bassett impressions. As a result, Vanity Fair united the ladies, so Keke could do more impressions. At the request of the legendary actress, Keke reenacts a scene from the movie, “The Jacksons: An American Dream.” As the two embraced one another, they reminisced on past projects together and new things to come.
The pair reunited, after nearly sixteen years since the duo graced the big screen together. In 2006, they starred in the film, Akeelah and the Bee, where Angela Bassett played Keke Palmer’s mother. Although the pair have not worked together since then, Keke always speaks highly of Angela. In fact, she cites Bassett as a major influence. Since 2006, both ladies have enjoyed major successes in their respective careers. Recently, Keke launched her KeyTV network. Meanwhile, Bassett is fresh off the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie.
