Kevin Durant gets into altercation with Joel Embiid
Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets were facing the Philadelphia 76ers at home. Last season, the Nets were expected to runaway with the NBA’s best record. Finally, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were able to play together. Instead, their season was up and down, but they landed the second seed. Meanwhile, the 76ers earned the first seed.
While fans anticipated Brooklyn and Philly, in the Eastern Conference Finals, they got Milwaukee and Atlanta. Both the Nets and Sixers were upset by the Bucks and Hawks, respectively. Both series went down to the wire, and both teams lost Game 7 at home. In the case of Brooklyn, they’d lose to the eventual NBA champions, at least.
The Brooklyn Nets got off to a tough start, this season, due to Kyrie Irving being removed from the team. His refusal to comply with policy led to his removal from the roster. But, the Nets are now allowing him to be a partial team member, playing with the team on the road. Without him, Brooklyn has gotten their act together, taking the East’s top seed.
Meanwhile, the Sixers have notably struggled, so tonight was a big statement game for them. In the end, Philadelphia did their job. They went into Brooklyn and beat the Nets. Towards the end of the game, Joel Embiid got a putback and he went HAM. His normal celebration, along with physical play, led to Kevin Durant going after him.
What began as an argument came close to Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid fighting. In the end, cooler heads prevailed.
