King Louie – “I Might” [VIDEO]

King Louie releases I Might music video

Four years ago, King Louie was a part of a special movement that has changed hip hop. In 2012, Chicago drill music took over the game. King Louie was among the plethora of artists who was introduced during that era. For the most part, King Louie has had a more stable career than his counterparts. Much of this comes from King Louie being a good bit older than the other artists.

King Louie was not only older than the Chicago drill rappers, he also had experience. Whereas those rappers were teens and just starting, King Louie was releasing music since 2006. However, the exposure that the Chicago scene received helped King Louie get a deal with Epic Records. What also helped was Kanye West remixing Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” and shouting King Louie out in his verse.

When King Louie spoke to MTV, he said he was shocked that Kanye West was even a fan of his. That co-sign is something King Louie hasn’t taken for granted. Since that time, King Louie has made the most of his opportunities. A year after the shout out, King Louie dropped Drilluminati 2 and “I Might” was included on the project. To kick off 2016, King Louie drops the visual for the song.
