Klay Thompson has epic celebration after hitting 1800th three-pointer | Cavaliers at Warriors [VIDEO]

Klay Thompson celebrates hitting his 1800th three-pointer

Last night, the Golden State Warriors had a moment they’ve waited nearly three years for. Their rivalry against the Cleveland Cavaliers effectively died, in 2018. For the first time, since then, the Cavaliers are a good team. Currently, the Cavs are holding the sixth spot in the East. If their current position holds, the Cavaliers will narrowly escape the Play-In Tournament.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors continued contending, in 2019. They breezed through the playoffs, that year, knocking off the Clippers and Rockets. In the Western Conference Finals, they swept the Portland Trail Blazers. When they returned to the NBA Finals, Kevin Durant went down with an injury, in Game 2. As the series progressed, Klay Thompson was injured.

While Klay Thompson rehabbed, the Warriors lost KD to free agency, and Steph Curry to injury. The 2020 season saw the Warriors sink to the NBA’s worst record. Late in the season, Steph returned, allowing himself to get back into rhythm. In 2021, Curry put on an epic performance, rising to be the league’s leading scorer. His play returned the Warriors to a winning record, and the postseason.

This year, the Warriors are not a Play-In team, they have the NBA’s best record. After two straight losses, Klay Thompson returned for Golden State’s home game, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Facing each other in four consecutive NBA Finals made the Warriors and Cavs rivals. For the first time since 2018, the Cavs are contenders, but they lost last night.

In Klay Thompson’s return game, he hit his 1,800th three-pointer. After he splashed that one, Klay had a memorable celebration.
