LeBron James jumps on Duncan Robinson diving for loose ball

The Lakers have gone through many struggles, this season. During the offseason, the Lakers made a flurry of offseason moves. At the time, the moves were viewed as savvy, but are now looking like mistakes. Honestly, it’s looking like the Lakers should’ve kept last season’s core intact, as the players are having career years elsewhere.

LeBron James has been the face of the Lakers, since 2018. After the 2017-18 season concluded, James signed with the Lakers. He bypassed the long and drawn out process he’d done, previously, when he would announce free agency. Not since his rookie contract has LeBron actually stayed with his previous team, during free agency. This is his idea of players taking back some form of ownership.

On the court, LeBron James is trying to be in ownership of the ball. The Lakers have a lot of ground to cover and they probably won’t make it happen. While they might make the playoffs, they’re not catching the Suns, Warriors, Grizzlies, and Jazz, this season. If they make the playoffs, the Lakers won’t have home court. At this point in the season, the Lakers just need momentum.

When they visited the Miami Heat, LeBron James tried to shift the energy. Though his overall efforts failed, as the Heat beat the Lakers, LeBron had a memorable moment. He dived for the loose ball and really showed Duncan Robinson what it’s like guarding a superstar.
