Rowdy Rebel originally rose to fame as a member of GS9. The momentum was so hot around the entire crew. During the summer of 2014, GS9 took over the streets, and signed their deal with Epic Records. It was only a matter of months before they were sent to prison. However, Rowdy Rebel was released from prison in December 2020. Throughout his time behind bars, Rowdy Rebel kept a steady flow of new music out.

Rowdy Rebel heated up the streets, upon his release from prison. This time, Rowdy Rebel was in preparation for his debut album. By 2021, Rowdy Rebel had strong momentum surrounding his music, which set the stage. Soon, Rowdy Rebel announced his debut album, Rowdy vs. Rebel, was on the way. In the spring of 2022, Rowdy Rebel released his debut album to the masses. On the album, Rowdy Rebel included an anthem for his city.

Rowdy Rebel definitely ushered in a new era of New York hip hop. However, Rowdy Rebel also has a deep respect for the generation that came before him. As a result, Rowdy Rebel came with his NY anthem, properly entitled “New York,” with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Jadakiss. In the case of Jadakiss, he is still going strong, and this is not his first time being on a song called “New York.” This time, the anthem is bringing all of New York together.
