Shy Glizzy performs “First 48, Pt. 2” at Gervonta Davis’ fight
Tonight, Gervonta Davis made his first return to the boxing ring, since May 2022, where he defeated Rolando Romero in six rounds, via TKO. On Saturday, Davis fought in Washington, D.C.’s Capital one Arena, where he took on Hector Luis Harcia. Davis came in undefeated at 27-0, while Garcia was 16-0. Davis went on to defeat Garcia after a stoppage at the conclusion of the 8th round, due to Garcia’s eye swelling up.
However, prior to Davis’ win, Shy Glizzy also accompanied him to the ring, while performing. The D.C. rapper was performing his “First 48 Pt. 2” song, which was released in 2017. That record initially appeared on Glizzy’s “Quiet Storm” mixtape.
Glizzy has been one of the DC/Maryland/Virginia’s hottest rappers, since 2014. That year, he took off with his “White Girl” single. Last month, he also trended, due to that record going platinum, and Glizzy finally putting out the video for it.
In April, Davis is also scheduled to take on Ryan Garcia, who is 23-0. Boxing fans had been wanting this matchup for a while now, and that will finally unfold, in the spring.
