Thad Young breaks Joel Embiid’s ankles and the crowd goes wild
Thad Young helped set the tone for the Toronto Raptors, early in Game 4. Joel Embiid entered Game 4 looking for a sweep against the Raptors. Thad Young was among the Raptors players who made sure that didn’t happen. Coming into Game 4, Thad Young and the Raptors were told by their coach, Nick Nurse, to “win the day.”
Thad Young is not a name who comes to mind when thinking of the Toronto Raptors. Instead of Thad Young, people think of Fred Van Vleet and Pascal Siakam. A veteran, Thad Young’s name is ironically more tied to the Philadelphia 76ers. During the Andre Iguodala era, Thad Young was a key role player. Thad Young was also around during the early years of “The Process.”
Thad Young has spent the past eight years as a journeyman. After Philly, Thad Young spent a year with the Timberwolves. Subsequently, Thad Young spent a year with the Brooklyn Nets. After that, Thad Young played three years with the Pacers and two with the Bulls. Thad Young was traded to the Spurs for DeRozan. Ironically, Thad Young was traded to DeRozan’s Raptors, crossing Joel Embiid up today.
