Vic Mensa admits dissing Drake was a mistake in new freestyle

The rap world can make or break anyone, as it thrives from disagreement and conflict. However, one rapper is taking the high road to rectify some wrong decisions. Vic Mensa performed a detailed freestyle on the Sway Universe show last Wednesday. During the freestyle Vic Mensa shares that “dissing Drake was a mistake,” in addition to issues with Lil Yachty and Dj Akademiks. The freestyle which lasts fifteen minutes, went into detail on Vic Mensa’s road to redemption in music.

Vic Mensa’s rise to fame is one that deserves more attention. After the split from his group Kids These Days, his solo career advanced quickly. Releasing his debut mixtape Innanetape in 2013, he later joined J. Cole and Wale on the What Dreams May Come Tour. Shortly after he graced the cover of the XXL Freshmen class of 2014, solidifying his stardom. Vic Mensa signed to Roc Nation in 2015 following the release of his debut studio single “Down On My Luck.” Vic went on to collaborate with Kanye West on multiple singles including “Wolves, “U Mad,” and “All Day.”

Despite a promising career, Vic’s past decisions lead him to step back from the spotlight. His 2016 single “Danger,” was a diss-record towards Drake. Vic has also made negative comments about Lil Yachty in the past, which didn’t work out in his favor. During his appearance on Sway’s show he mentions that since then he and Drake and Lil Yachty are on good terms. Although the issue between Dj Akademiks is still unclear, Vic also mentioned he wants to settle that also.  Watch the entire freestyle above.
