Nia Long calls out Celtics for making Ime Udoka situation public

A few months ago, Boston Celtics Head Coach Ime Udoka landed himself in hot water. This was due to having a consensual relationship with a team staffer. As a result, that led Udoka to being suspended for this entire NBA season. This staffer is said to have been someone who set up Udoka’s traveling arrangements, as well as for Long to see the Celtics play. The woman is also reportedly a married Mormon woman, who has three children.

Udoka’s relationship with this staffer also meant that he was having an affair with Nia Long, who he’d been with since 2010. The two also had one child together. Long has been quiet about this situation for a while, but recently decided to open up about it. This was done in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. One aspect of this situation that she hates, is her son knowing about it.

“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face. When the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public. It was devastating, and it still is.”

Long also added that no one from the Celtics organizations came to check up on her, or her children.

“If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”
