Afro Nation Detroit kicks off day one of inaugural festival with performances by Burna Boy, Ari Lennox, Latto, Dej Loaf, Skillibeng, and more

Burna Boy, Ari Lennox and more kick off Afro Nation Detroit festival

On Saturday afternoon, Afro Nation officially kicked off its first ever festival in Detroit. This took place at the Bedrock’s Douglas Site near the downtown area, as Hip-HopVibe was on site.

The day featured performances from various Afrobeats and hip-hop stars, which include Skillibeng, Diamond Platnumz, Detroit native Dej Loaf, Latto, Ari Lennox, as well as Burna Boy closing out the night as the headliner. Dej, Flavour, and Fraglish were inserted into the Afto Nation Detroit lineup on Saturday, due to Naira Marley, Kizz Daniel, Tayc, Dadju and Focalistic not being able to perform. As a result, they still had the crowd electric and had Detroit entertained.

Burna closed the night out with various hits from his catalogue, as he is also preparing for his upcoming seventh studio album, “I Told Them…” This project is scheduled to be released on August 24. This is led by his “Sittin On Top Of The World” single.

The final day of Afro Nation Detroit concludes on Sunday night. This will feature performances by Davido, Coi Leray, Masego, and much more.
