In the United States of America, the theme of the nation is that all men are created equal. Of course, the history of America has shown that not all men were treated equally. Not to mince words, Black America has gone through tremendous suffering.
Politically, race has always been a factor, as the Republican Party was the initial party of Black America. Over time, the support shifted to the formerly racist, Democratic Party. In 2008, Barack Obama, a Democrat, became the first Black president.
Since then, Donald Trump led a racially-charged campaign into the presidency as a Republican. While Trump maintains he, personally, is not a racist, his election has led to many racist things being said and done, and not just White towards Black. What has happened tonight is one of the most-embarrassing moments in American history.
Admittedly, there are many people upset by the election of Donald Trump, but his presidency is not the end of the world. However, a white supporter of Donald Trump wound up kidnapped, tortured, and the whole thing was streamed on Facebook Live. Regardless of his political opinions, right is right, and wrong is wrong, and this was wrong.
Many have taken to Twitter to share their rightful disgust at this moment, as now a full-blown race war may very well erupt.
