Coolio’s friend believe severe asthma contributed to passing 

Almost a week ago, Coolio suddenly passed away, at the age of 59. At the time, he was visiting a close friend in Los Angeles, and used their bathroom. When this friend noticed that Coolio had been in there for a while, he got checked on, an was found unconscious. EMTs reportedly performed CPR on him for 45 minutes, but wasn’t effective.

According to TMZ, sources close to Coolio are now speaking on what health issues he may have been dealing with, that contributed to his death. Initially, EMTs believed that cardiac arrest is what caused this.

Coolio’s friends claim that he had severe asthma, and this is what may mostly have caused his death. This is reportedly a heath issue that he dealt with over the years, despite him feeling good, in the days leading up to him passing away. His family has since told investigators to look into Coolio’s history of asthma, and what role it may have played in him losing his life. He’s said to have brought inhalers to his concerts, as precautions.

Coolio initially soared to stardom back in 1995, with the success of his breakout hit single with L.V, “Gangsta’s Paradise.” That peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is 3x platinum in the US. Coolio released eight studio albums, in total.
