DJ Khaled promises #IChangedALot will be his biggest album, doesn’t mention Cash Money Records

DJ Khaled 5Through the years, Miami has played a big role in hip hop, just in varying periods. When 2 Live Crew emerged, they were at the forefront of the game and they passed the torch to Trick Daddy. While Trick Daddy had a run, he flew under the radar in comparison to stars from other cities.

Until DJ Khaled’s 2006 emergence, most of the Miami-area artists emerged from the same camp. But, DJ Khaled facilitated opportunities for the likes of Trick Daddy, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, and Plies. He also helped tie the Miami scene to Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne.

In 2010, Cash Money Records pulled off a major move when DJ Khaled joined the label, bringing Ace Hood and We the Best Music Group in 2012. But, the label seems to now be shedding artists left and right and DJ Khaled has fallen back from mentioning the label. When he shouted out his upcoming album, I Changed A Lot, DJ Khaled was boastful as usual, but did not mention Cash Money Records.
