Until she showed up on TV One’s “R&B Divas,” Michel’le was considered an afterthought by most. But, when she resurfaced via reality television, Michel’le told her story. This story was odd, seeing how she was involved with both Dr. Dre and Suge Knight.
With men like this in her life, Michel’le did not shock anyone when she revealed she was abused. But, many were surprised to learn Dr. Dre was the abusive one. When she revealed this, Dr. Dre fought back and then she was omitted from Straight Outta Compton, last summer’s classic.
Michel’le partnered with Lifetime for a movie of her own, Surviving Compton, that tells her omitted story. Here, Michel’le is portrayed by Rhyon Nicole Brown and Dr. Dre is portrayed by Curtis Hamilton. Hamilton’s gripping portrayal of Dr. Dre, showing his character to be an abuser has set Twitter off against the real Dr. Dre, as they go in on him.
