2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards nominees revealed
The BET Hip-Hop Awards is returning to Atlanta this fall, as it’ll air on October 4, and be hosted by Fat Joe. Filming will occur on September 30, as the list of nominees was officially revealed, on Monday.
Drake leads the way, with the most nominations, at these Hip-Hop Awards. He has an impressive 14 nominations, as he’s had another huge year, where he scored his seventh straight number one solo album. This was with “Honestly, Nevermind.” Every solo album of his career has reached this number one spot. Drake also went on to tease the release of his “Scary Hours 3” EP, which has yet to have an official date.
Kanye West has the second most nominations, with 10. Kendrick Lamar holds the third most nominations, with nine. Kanye has released two albums over the past year, both of which have been his two “Donda” projects. Donda 1 debuted at number one in the US, while the sequel wasn’t available on streaming platforms. Kendrick released his first album in five years, this past May, which was “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” That became Kendrick’s third straight number one studio album.
