One criticism “Empire” faced in season two was the frequent celebrity guest appearances. Many big names just didn’t fit the storyline, but it made for good TV, nevertheless. This weekend, TV One revisited those moments on “Empire.”
When “Empire” debuted, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) was portrayed as the talented, gay, son. But, when Jamal was around Skye Summers (Alicia Keys), it was a different story. The two got very close and it went down, leading Lucious (Terrence Howard) to say she “fixed” him.
Because of how Jamal was portrayed, his character being involved with a woman was shocking. The fact that Jamal Lyon kissed a girl was a pivotal moment, within. When the two slept together, it has the whole media world talking.
