In 2022, Future continued to show why he’s still one of the most dominant artists in the industry. In April, he released his ninth studio album, “I Never Liked You.” That project contained 22 songs in total, which was led by the hit record, “Wait For U” featuring Drake and Tems. Future also collaborated with Kodak Black Kanye West, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and more. Future also scored 2023 Grammy nominations for the album and Wait For U single.

However, Future continues to make history. He was the only artist this year, to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 every single week. This was largely due to the massive success of I Never Liked You. Wait For U was also the most streamed song on Apple Music of 2022, and the first 2022 collaboration to reach 4x platinum eligibility.

Future initially kicked his momentum off in the spring, with his “Worst Day” single. That was in celebration of Valentine’s Day, as he also did an interview with the late Kevin Samuels, in promotion of the record. Over a month later, Future announced the I Never Liked You album.
