Future’s “Wait For U” with Drake & Tems sets new 2022 milestone

2022 was another major year for Future. In April, he released his ninth studio album, “I Never Liked You.” That went on to easily become his seventh straight number one studio album. It also had one of the biggest first week album sales, of 2022.

The biggest record from I Never Liked You, ended up becoming “Wait For U.” This included two huge features from Drake and Tems, and became the latest single from the album. It also soon debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. However, it has now achieved another major milestone, since its release.

According to Chart Data, Wait For U has now sold over 4 million units in the US. That now makes it eligible for 4x platinum status, and becomes the first 2022 collaboration to do this. Wait For U also become another major record that Future and Drake linked up for. It also showcased the stardom of Tems, who had breakout success in 2021. Wait For U is also nominated for the Grammy award for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Future’s I Never Liked You album contained 22 songs in total, including the deluxe edition. He also collaborated with additional stars such as Kanye West, Kodak Black, Lil Baby, EST Gee, and more.
