The entertainment world has been crushed by the pandemic of the coronavirus as we’re seeing many festivals and tours get canceled or postponed due to fear of the spread of the virus. Coachella was originally supposed to take place on the weekends of April 10 and 17 with many popular stars in hip-hop and R&B performing which includes Travis Scott, DaBaby, Summer Walker, 21 Savage, Ari Lennox, Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch.

Coachella will now take place on the weekends of October 9 and 16.The Stagecoach festival in Indio, CA was also supposed to take place in April but will now be on the weekend of October 23. Hotels in the area have taken huge losses financially since the announcements of both festivals as well, according to TMZ.

Employees at these hotels say that the revenue lost in total in the area has reached over $1 million. The Homewood Suites by Hilton La Quinta is one of them who has taken a drop in revenue as they dropped down by 60% in a $500,000 loss. The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Palm Desert was also supposed to earn $450k in total during these weekends but since the postponements, they’ve seen a 10% decrease in revenue. Indian Wells Resort Hotel is also losing a shocking $400,000. These hotels do believe though that they can make their money back.
