Jay-Z and Rihanna to headline Olympics Festival

Jay-Z has made it clear he is much more than a rapper. Once the biggest rapper on the planet, often found doing radio and television interviews, Jay-Z has been very elusive over the past few years. Since taking over at Def Jam and eventually leaving to start Roc Nation, Jay-Z has been relatively absent from the rap game. It has been three years since he last released a new album.

Though he does not release much new music, Jay-Z is always in the news because of the stars he has built and the people influenced by him. One of the most-successful artists developed by Jay-Z is Rihanna, who is currently working on her seventh studio album. The two worked so closely early in her career, many felt the two were romantically involved.

This was proven to not be the case, but the two do have great musical chemistry. Jay-Z and Rihanna have countless hits together. Later this summer, they will have the chance to perform their series of hits in front of a large crowd, as they are set to headline the music festival for the 2012 Summer Olympics. The duo will be headlining the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend on June 23 and 24.

The 2012 Summer Olympics will begin on July 27 and take place in London.
