Last week, rumors began of Jay-Z and Roc Nation purchasing the rights to music from Tupac Shakur. This story was expanded when it was said that a new Tupac album was dropping on Roc Nation. Given the history between Jay-Z and Tupac, this made for an interesting story.
Jay-Z rose to become one of the most-iconic rappers in the game. But, he seems to be more successful as a businessman and his business moves have led to him working with his former rivals. Because of this, the Tupac deal did not seem to far-fetched.
But, it turns out, there is no actual truth to the story of Jay-Z’s company purchasing Tupac’s music. With that, there is no truth to Tupac Shakur putting out a new album on Roc Nation next year. Billboard reported this story earlier this morning.
