Two weeks ago, Dreamville rapper, JID, released his first studio album, since late 2018. This is “The Forever Story,” as it was led by singles such as “Dance Now” featuring Kenny Mason, and “Surround Sound,” featuring 21 Savage. The release of this album came on a night of star-studded releases, which included DJ Khaled’s chart-topping “God Did” album. The Forever Story served as JID’s third studio album.

The Forever Story went on to debut at number 12, in the US. This is JID’s highest-charting project, to date. 15 songs were included in the album, as well as appearances from Lil Durk, Ari Lennox, Lil Wayne, EarthGang, Baby Tate, and more.

However, JID also went viral, on Thursday. This is due to his performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk being released, as fans loved his performance. He delivered songs from The Forever Story, as well as his 2018 “DiCaprio 2” album.

J. Cole’s Dreamville record label has been making a lot of noise, in 2022. The collaborated with DJ Drama this past spring, to release the “D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz” mixtape with DJ Drama, and Ari Lennox is also releasing her “Age/Sex/Location” album, on September 9, which is her first project since 2019.
