Kendrick Lamar wins two awards at 2022 American Music Awards

After a very long hiatus from releasing music, Kendrick Lamar dominated in 2022. He finally released his fifth studio album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” This was Kendrick’s first album since early 2017, when he put out “DAMN.”

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers also went on to become Kendrick’s third straight number one album. This project was a double album, as 18 songs were available. Kendrick also collaborated with Summer Walker, Kodak Black, Ghostface Killah, and more.

On Sunday, the American Music Awards is taking place in Los Angeles. Plenty of awards have already been given out, as Kendrick has won two. These include Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album. These were all of the categories that Kendrick was nomination in, and was considered a heavy favorite to win both.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was also Kendrick’s final album on Top Dawg Entertainment. He’s since been growing his PgLang record label. One of the biggest artists that he’s signed so far, is Baby Keem. Keem is his cousin, and had a breakout year in 2021. He put out the debut “Family Ties” single with Kendrick, and went on to win a Grammy.
